first of all you need something better to record an alto sax the frequency is too high for it to be picked up right..if i'm doing serious practice and am recording to listen i usually put my phone under a cushion and sit on it..you really need to work on your tone play slow tunes or long notes..Autumn leaves i found a good one because you can practice your solo's cos there easy chords..not bad tho but please use better equipment or something the sound is quite bad:)

Advice from a fellow saxophonist: Try to bring some of your own personality into it. Millions of people have heard that tune, so don't be afraid to add some vibrato or some trills somewhere.

Instruments give off some thing called high pressure sound and i don't think your microphone can get high pressure that well so try to get a good microphone for instruments

@KiSsMeQuIcK1011 it doesnt need to be fancy, i have an average camcorder. It was fine but not close to perfection tho, Nobody likes criticism but it is the only thing to push people into reaching there potential, it is annoying but necessary if you want to become really great..he is good but he should want to push on further, "challenge yourself." is to broad of a term I think. everything is challenge at some point , tonal quality, expression, sight reading etc.

first of all not everyone can afford fancy equipment it's expensive... i thought that it was fine you can play what you want and the only way you are going to get better is if you challenge yourself. I say use what you got to record, if people don't like it then don't watch... simples
