Vista interior del JET , un toroide magnetico tipo Tokamak , utilizado para confinar plasma a altas temperaturas usando campos magneticos, para conseguir la fusion nuclear.

Inner view of the JET , "tokamak" type toroid , used to keep and heat plasma currents to high temperatures (100 million K aprox.) in order to achieve a nuclear fusion.

  • For other commenters, the reactor is JET, bog-standard tokamak, not spherical one like MAST or START. ITER isn't built yet.

Question: so the centre of the plasma is the hottest and most ionized, and doesn't glow. I see a lot of red light on the edges, and at the 46 second mark, I see a blue-green flash.

What's happening here? What time within the experiment is most of the energy generated?

  • no...I think it is a START before

  • That's ITER, the one in France. The video is from the official web site.

  • Or... in Japan TOKAMAK maybe?

  • I think this process is in ITER reactor.

  • ¿O sea que lo que se vió era plasma? Si es así, que padre, por fin veo cómo es el plasma.

Algún día la fusión nuclear remplazará a la fisión en la generación de electricidad en una central

  • wow.. i didnt see anything like this before

  • gotta love those tokamak inner views, plasma is beautiful

  • Odic forces arise!!! is it a mesmeric experiment?
