I hope you enjoy this video even if you don't use Final Cut Pro or Apple Motion! This is a top quality 1080 video... on youtube! [2.2Mbps H.264 + 192kbps AAC audio encoded with QT7 Pro.]

This is a 1080 HD transition or standalone effect with a single dropzone.

The video shows how to implement the effect.

All audio composed (with loops and foley) and generated with Apple Logic.

  • Do you know if there's a way to do a glass shattering transition in iMovie (HD, '09, or '11)?

  • @evil0verlady You will need Motion (5 will do and it's only $49+tax from the app store) to render out the broken glass sequence (use dropzone—export as Animation or Prores 4444.) I believe you can enable advanced features in iMovie and apply a Picture in Picture effect on a clip. From what i've read, you will have to manually add prores clips to the Event folder for the project. Google "iMovie +ProRes kenstone.net". Load up the Motion export in PIP and fit. I *think* that should work. HTH

  • Can you use this for Final Cut Express?

  • @EpiCastrophe As far as I know, you can! If you are unable to install the files as a template, then I believe you can still open the Motion Project file from within FCE and use it in the timeline that way. According to Apple's FCE specs page: Direct-to-Timeline drag-and-drop integration of Motion projects. Make sure you keep any accessory files in the same folder as the project file.

    HTH!

  • The preferred paths to install these files are:

    The Shatter Effect folder (template):

Main hard drive: Users: yourUserName: Library: Application Support: Final Cut Studio: Motion: Templates:

    the Shatter Effect SC.molo (favorite):

Main hard drive: Users: yourUserName: Library: Application Support: Final Cut Studio: Motion: Library: Favorites:

You can't use the Finder's Find feature to find any of the folders in /Library as they are system protected, you must navigate the folders manually.

  • You're very welcome!
