The Universe in a Nutshell: The Physics of Everything
Michio Kaku, Henry Semat Professor of Theoretical Physics at CUNY

What if we could find one single equation that explains every force in the universe? Dr. Michio Kaku explores how physicists may shrink the science of the Big Bang into an equation as small as Einstein's "e=mc^2." Thanks to advances in string theory, physics may allow us to escape the heat death of the universe, explore the multiverse, and unlock the secrets of existence. While firing up our imaginations about the future, Kaku also presents a succinct history of physics and makes a compelling case for why physics is the key to pretty much everything.

What is Kaku currently up to? I've heard nothing from him for a while, he hasn't shown himself on Bigthink, nor have I heard about his recent activities in the media?

Could any shed light on this please?

Necessity is the mother of invention. Man has made great strides in the past, but now I think we have gotten too comfortable with what we have. They landed on the moon 6 times in 3 years back in the 70's and never went back. Now we're just content to sit here on our polluted, impoverished, overpopulated planet while our ice caps melt and the ozone layer dissolves, just staring into our iphone 5, reassuring ourselves with "Well, maybe they'll figure out a way to plug me into a computer."

Oh yes, because some unknown tryhard YouTube comment comedian mocking the likelyhood of scientists actually accomplishing anything is much more believeable and reliable regarding research than highly educated biologists, physicists and chemists whom all devote their entire life and intellect to these projects.

Starting to wish I did physics instead of economics at uni. I'd be poor and misunderstood, but least I'd understand our big universe that little bit more
