Funny story about this recording...it was originally recorded tor the soundtrack to James Cameron's movie "Strange Days." Kind of last minute, Sony decides that they want a Sony recording artist (Prong) to perform the title track on the Sony movie's soundtrack. However, by this point the movie was already being edited/cut to the Sister Machine Gun version of the song. Funny thing is, when SMG recorded it, they added in an organ solo that Ray Manzerek (from The Doors) kinda had to sorta play when he guest-recorded his own song with Prong. I find that amusing. Anyways, you can find this song on the Sister Machine Gun cd "Burn." It's a negative track, so not all CD players can play it. You have to play the frst track like normal, and then "rewind" past 0:00 until about -5:00. The "X-Files: Songs in the Key of X" CD also had a "negative track" on it as well, so it's not unheard of.

  • The amusing thing is we could´nt get Ray out of the studio. He wanted to to do take after take, and he did his solo about 20 times. He said "hey man this is really fun!" I´m thinking Ray does´nt get out that much these days.Nice guy we had a lot of fun with him.

  • @TedParsons Ha! I love that! Thanks for sharing! (for those unaware, Ted Parsons was in Prong.)

  • Okay, so what's the trick? I've had the disk for... oh dear, is it really over a decade now? Is there any PROBABLE method of getting this onto a computer and onto an mp3 player? Any? Maybe???

  • @Sesquipedaliantique *shrugs* I only know that because back in the day I was a huge fan of the film Strange Days. I must have listened to that casette a couple thousand times.

  • @crashusmaximus I didn't know they'd covered it too. Prong is immense.

  • @Sesquipedaliantique I hate to say it, but I do prefer the Prong cover.

  • @Sesquipedaliantique Bollocks!!! lol

  • I've never liked SMG (always thought they were the weakest of the Wax Trax! bands) but this track is ace.
