@aperturesandfstops A Forest is a piece of crap, can't believe how much praise that song gets. Brooding, it's just self-indulgent rubbish. And I do quuite like The Cure. This track on the other hand is genuinely creepy and edgy.

@analogblue I read an interview with Bernard where he said the Cure was great and how they gave NO a gig when no one else would. Apparently Bernard is a "stupid Cure" fan, like most of the people who listen to NO are.

No way, New Order's song is in no way a ripoff. Cries and Whispers is more uptempo than The Cure's A Forest which is darker and more brooding. Totally different vibe!
