I brought along my portable recorder, 3 Fuji C90 cassettes and got a stiff arm holding this heavy microphone above the sea of heads for a very long set of what turned out to be great music. I was quite far from the stage but good old Harvey Goldsmith had not skimped on the PA system, hence the sound was powerful and clear, even gusts of wind could not kill the sound.
A few months later I copied all the tracks on to several reel to reel tapes, which ended up being stolen. I have no idea if any of the Blackbushe releases circulating on vinyl came from these stolen tapes or, if not, what the sound quality of other audience recordings is.
Over the years I would occasionally play the cassettes but forgot all about their existence for long periods in between. I was pleasantly surprised when I listened to them again now and thought to myself, they still sound pretty damn good.
Here is a random compilation of snippets from the first nine songs of the set. Watch out for more Blackbushe Dylan gems on this channel over the next few months. Suggestions as to which songs people want to hear first are welcome.
This video contains excerpts of the following Bob Dylan songs:
1. My Back Pages (Instrumental) - Live Original
2. Love Her With A Feeling - Live Original
3. Baby Please Stop Crying - Live Original
4. Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues - Live Original
5. Shelter From The Storm - Live Original
6. It's All Over Now Baby Blue - Live Original
7. Girl From The North Country - Live Original
8. Ballad Of A Thin Man - Live Original
9. Maggie's Farm - Live Original
The silent film belongs to SKIPDIVER100. I have asked for permission but have not received a response. I'm happy to remove the video if SKIPDIVER100 objects in any way.
Was there from belgium with my cousin, both 17 years > a big adventure. Unfortenately we were in the back rowes. There was also some fine reggae and we discovered Graham Parker & the rumour and Joan Armatrading. We lost each other during the concert but met just in time in London to go to take the ferry. I slept in the railway station on the way back to London. Thank you for this great souvenir.

Forget his Bobship and Clapton. . Remember Armatrading (so young but so powerful) and GP+Rumour who blew everyone else away, Waterloo station, a sea of Sunday Times 'blankets' & new friendships. Thanks so much for posting. It doesn't matter if we never meet again...
