La Ronde is a 1950 film, directed by Max Ophüls and based on Arthur Schnitzler's 1897 play of the same name. The title means "the merry-go-round", the lives of each lover interlink through a series of episodes. Here the young wife, played by the exquisite Danielle Darrieux, contemplates her adultry as she wanders through her home from the bedroom to the nursery. The music is composed by Oscar Strauss.
