Man thanks for putting Swans up on YT. Hopefully more people learn of Gira's genius through this.

Swans were geniuses. Bar none.

@greedholymoney there is no room for your vanguardism here or anywhere.

@greedholymoney - Would it have been more appropriate to have filmed a wilder sea? One with giant waves constantly? That would've been cheesy. He became a surfer, his life is now devoted to the main thing in this video. Often times, you'll see videos where the music backdrops a lot of random images. This image, however, is beautiful & calming. It really allows you to hear the music.

@greedholymoney hey man, well put.

I don't believe in God but if I did I'd strongly suspect Gira was involved somehow.

I love the video and boxing is for troglodytes.

This album MADE me love life. It blows my mind every damn time I listen to it...

I think your video is just fine. M Gira uses a lot of archetypal nature metaphors - so I don't see what's so inappropriate here.
Besides, I head Gira say that this track was about an acid trip on the beach, when he was a teenager in California, where he thought he saw himself in the water.

This song is supposed to be a based on a dream/nightmare M. Gira (who is a boxing fan) had about Oscar De La Hoya's decision to quit boxing and become a professional surfer.
As such, this video montage is wholly inappropriate and a complete (as opposed to incomplete) waste of time.

You ever heard of a concept called 'The Death of the Author'?
This video is about what the song means to the person who MADE the damn thing.

Personally, I'd rather not know that the song was about some stupid boxing nonsense. My imagination had much more intricate designs for it (:

The funny thing about creativity, is it means something different to everyone. You should know better than anyone, being a Swans fan, that there is no such thing as "inappropriate" creativity.
