Here is beginning harp player Joe Vitale jamming with world-class master Dennis Greunling at
Jam Camp, New Jersey, 2006. Joe has not been playing harp a long time, but he was a professional drummer. His attitude exudes confidence. As for Gruenling, what a master!

  • when I was kid Paul Orta showed mr how to tongue- block... do you use that? i can't hear it? Again, I'm sure you do... probably just my ear. By- the- way I love 'On Fire' from your first album.

  • Dennis tongue-blocks 100% of the time.

  • Some might say his tone is so thick he doesn't need octaves.

  • wow, I guess

  • Dennis' tone and phrasing are just outstanding!

  • The band is in the key of G DENNIS IS playing a C HARP.But if he was playing an F HARP low or high in the same key it would be in 3rd postion. There is no high or low key for the band the key is the key. hope this helps

  • what key Harp Is Mr Dennis Gruenling playing is it Low F?? If im in low F what key would the band have to be in would it be Low C?? Thanks - Great Clip I live DG deep tone - it blows my socks off - amaizing

  • I was at their show at the jazz fest

  • tyson... tongue block is playing using any four holes. You play the outside holes ( while blocking with your tongue -the two on the inside) get an instructional book or dennis c.d. on tongue blocking. Lots of info on internet.

  • buy an instructional book ... or search it out on the internet... don't be lazy

  • Which one is Dennis, and what does playing octaves mean not getting into deep musical terms?
