3dsmax texTools: v1.6 uv- swapping improved

swaps your UV1 with XYZ channels inside a modifier so you can still keep you underlying modifiers non- merged. The script scales the UV as soon as it gets swapped to the 3d world space in order to see and better modify it. As soon as you hit the swap button again it will add another edit-poly modifier (in which the changes are stored again) and scale the UV back to its former UV scale.

This tool is usefull for tweaking your UV's with traditional tools in max such as for example brush tweaking, bend/ twist modifiers. You can even modify the Topology like extruding, beveling ect. as it will generate polygons on the counter part in the UV space or former 3d space.

hey screenracer,

did you followed the installation insturctions? (drag the file in the viewport + map the macroscript?). Check my channel for the installation video.

It allows you to launch the TexTools or close it without the need of putting the MZP file in any special maxscript folder.

About the loss of the dds image format,- I really don't know why that would happen as I did not touch any image type thing in my maxscript.

I love your plugin. I have been using it for a few days and found it to be very useful! I do have a bug to report. I work with a lot of game art that use the dds format. I stuck TexTools_2.91.mzp into my plugins folder so it would start when I opened max(9). But if I did that, max no longer recognized dds as an image format? I removed it out of plugins and that fixed the dds issue. I would have liked for textools auto start with max, but I have now added to my toolbar. Hope this helps.
