Swarthmore College Professor Syd Carpenter is an award winning ceramic sculptor whose recent show at the Sande Webster Gallery in Philadelphia was inspired by her years of gardening and research into the history of African American agriculture.

Wonderful video of a dear friend and amazing artist! Everyone in the neighborhood knows Syd has the finest garden practice to be seen. But, a couple of decades ago, before she even had that garden, I was in the apartment above her. Small world, but Syd Carpenter has enhanced and beautified it very much!

is there any way you can get rid of the pop-up ads? they're distracting and just slightly diminish what would otherwise be the pure enjoyment i get out of your videos. i bother to mention this because you and Ken Nordine are just about my favorite Youtubers.
other than that...Syd Carpenter's great! thanks for bringing her sculpture to Youtube viewers.

@nedloh40 Well, I am afraid it is the wages of sin. I really wanted to be able to have some John Coltrane music in the background. If there were a way for me to pay a little to not have the ads, i would, but because a music corporation owns the rights to the music, youtube puts ads up to get some revenue. I have to see how to get really good music that is copyright free or go without...
