That a buslish, pure hate propaganda in rushian news. Damn anyone had bad things in the past thich they must accept. Germans had Hitler and the are sorry for it. Japanese had their empire and they now use army only for selfdefense. From russia came Comunismus with horible opresions, face it! Be sorry for it. @JD12ish I also know about people closely related to the StaSi in former DDR deneing the fact, they did something wrong. I know about all that but only because other make mistakes it doesn't give Russia the right to do so. Everyone should trie to deal with the history of his nation in a apropriate way, especialy with the dark sides of it.

@JD12ish I have seen this movie and thats why I'm writing such coments. I by no means claim Soviet Story to be the idol of objectivity but it contains far too much scary truth and facts. And I know, that there is much shit going on. I do not only know about the facts you mentioned but also about idiots in my home country Latvia glorifing latvians who joined the Waffen SS in the WW2 on the 16th of march each year.

@RoberttheWise Is a little bit of fairness and objectivity too much to ask? Yes, Russia isn't exactly a model democracy but has done a lot in recent years to improve this.
Italy, first Fascist regime ever, completely denies ever having committed any atrocities during or before WW2 and considers itself a victim of Germa aggression instead of its ally. In Japan ceremonies are held in memory of soldiers who perpetrated the worst atrocities of WW2. Turkey flat out denies the Armenian genocide.

@RoberttheWise Have you even seen the Soviet Story? It's the most disgusting history-mutilating, Russian-hating film I have ever seen! Here is a direct quote from this appalling film:
"Turning human tragedy into a farce has become a norm in Russia. Ridiculing the Ukrainian famine or the Jewish holocaust is the norm."
Present-day Russia is portrayed as a country run by neo-Nazis, Putin branded as following in Stalin's footsteps. Could it be any more biased against Russia and history?

I am not Russian and I think Stalin was one of the greatest CRIMINALS to ever walk the Earth.
However, I also think that the Soviet Story is an extremely HATEFUL, BIGOTED film. It exploits painful memories for POLITICAL gains. The sponsor of the film is a group of conservative, right-wing political parties called the UEN Group. It's clearly a politically motivated PROPAGANDA film that has little to do with objective history and everything with discrediting the left and Russians.
It sickens me!
