To let everyone on here know, having a puppy, especially a black lab, go up and down stairs at this young of an age is terrible for their hips. You have to wait til they are at least 7-8 months old.

It must be a Lab short coming. We have had 3 Labs here and each one has always had trouble going up or down the stairs. We never tried to force and push any of them to go up or down when they were young, but they have all stopped dead when approaching the stairs. Each one would protect us against anything, except if some stairs were attaching us. lol Then we would be on our own.
But still loved each one, including the present one.
Labs forever.
