I turned a pair of Soloflex muscle machines into a great power rack system. It has all the functionality of the Soloflex Muscle Machine as well as that of a power rack. It's super tough and versatile, and a great space saver. I had them welded together by a professional fabricator to have as few parts as possible and to ensure it was done right.

Each Muscle Machine is rated for up to 500 pounds of freeweights plus 400 pounds of weight straps so there is no lack of strength.

I have been brainstorming and experimenting with modifying exercise equipment and sharing equipment and training ideas with people for decades. I had proposed the idea to build a dual framed Soloflex into a power rack online, on the Soloflex blog, and in personal discussions long long before anyone else ever posted a similar idea on any blogs and youtube videos.

I had posted the dual framed Soloflex power rack idea on the Soloflex Blog on May 13 2009

More modifications have since been done, and more are coming. SOme of the pictures have been posted on the Soloflex Forever Facebook page. I also use the TRX suspension trainer on it as well as the Yoga Swing, plus more.

  • Do you know if an Olympic sized weight plate would fit on the floating lever arm??

I have an idea and don't have any Olympic plates to try it out on.

I like the machine you built. Inspiring.

You can put Olympic adapter bars onto 1" thick bars or a 1" thick straight through barbell. I think they look better in black.

Thanks for your comment. This machine serves me very well. I also have a freeweight cable pulley set up for it that doesn't take up any additional floor space.
