This is the first video of my latest XNA game, Battle Beat. A strategy-rhythm hybrid game where you have to keep the beat to crush the incoming alien menace. Battle Beat keeps a simple interface but has some interesting depth in its strategy when it comes it unit usage and placement.
Battle Beat currently has
- support for instrument controllers
- 3 different music tracks
- 9 different unit types
- 8 different enemy types
- 9 challenging levels
- 1 unsettling commanding officer
But this isn't the end. There are big plans for this game and the plan is to expand with more difficultly levels, challenge levels, more unlockable units and other treats. Perhaps even an editor to make your own challenges! Battle Beat is a fresh new take on rhythm games moving away from pretend rock stardom. I hope gamers at large will appreciate playing this game as much as I enjoyed creating it.
