There seems to be some confusion here about physics. In the manga etc the sword hangs diagonal, and people seem to think that if I had copied the fictious version it would have worked better. You see, the dragonslayer is a heavy ass sword, if it was hung diagonal it would spend 100% of it's time fighting the harness to hang directly down, and would wind up hanging all the weight off one shoulder, instead of both shoulders and the hips like mine does. Also, instead of making it hard to walk, a diagonally hung sword would make it impossible to walk, as it would completely mess up the action of the leg the sword hung over. The only way to get around that would be to hang the sword higher, but then the handle would be out of reach. This is the only design that would work, for a metal dragonslayer.

  • im sure you know and this is just me as a fan of berserk but the harness in wrong all it realy is is a hook and a leather thing with a chain holding it together that is what make the draw easier because all he has to do is lift it a little and then swing because gut's style is based on a lot of full body swings and the two metal bars on the side prevents ease of a "quick draw" but im just ranting because I notice that

  • vid description.

  • correct me if im wrong but u used a old marching drum harness right

  • Nope, twas a custom job. Now that you mention it though it's more or less the same thing.

  • No that wouldn't work; because of the sheer size and weight of the blade you would have more difficulty harnessing it diagonally while maintaining even weight distribution than if you were to have it vertically as shown (it'd probably be easier to walk with the weight more evenly distributed evenly too). In any other case with a more realistic sword you'd be right however, things would work so much better if we had anime physics to help us lol.

  • I have been looking on the net for TWO DAYS for a REAL Berserk Dragon Slayer replica...this is amazing.

How much time did this take to produce? I'm also interested in how much it was purchased for, if you sold it.

ALSO, VERY interested in what type of metal you used.

  • @N1ceV1d see the video "REAL Berserk Sword

  • Makes sense. But even if it's a cool sword, it's damn near useles unless you can pretty much lug around a telephone pole to efficiently use this blade.

Still gets kudos 'cause I'm a Berserk fan. Nicely done.

  • he is a pro at making blades work. i think u can buy some blades from him, and they work, u might have to sharpen them after u buy em from him. i would get a Cloud blade and Guts blade from him if i were u guys, those r the deadliest ones he makes.

  • i wanted to c u swing it around.

  • I'm sure it's way out of my price range, but how much would it cost to have this one made, or better yet, the master sword from zelda

  • I love you with your accents.

Nice sword and harness, by the by.

  • @Clomner It's just easier to walk around in.
