Elastic is a great material to use for bracelets as it is easy to take on and off. It is also a great material to use for children as it is a strong and durable material and easy for them to take on and off themselves. Firstly decide what beads you wish to use, or lay out a design on a bead board. You can use a measuring tape to measure the size of your wrist so you know how long to make it. Following this, simply thread your beads onto the elastic. The great thing about elastic is there is no need to use clasps and crimps, you can simply tie off the end with knots. However, how you tie the knot is very important, as the elastic can often be slippery and come undone. So for the first knot, take the left length over the right, then for the second knot take the right length over the left. You can repeat this numerous times to make sure the ending is secure. Pull the knots quite firmly to assure they will stay in place. After this, you can use a small amount of super glue or clear nail polish and dab it onto the knot to help hold it in place.

  • This tutorial may seem stupid to you because you already know how to do this; but many novice beaders don't even know where to start. The aim of our tutorials is to demonstrate how easy it can be.
