The man playing the trumpet in Sid Seymour and his Mad Hatters is my Grandpop! This is the first footage i have managed to find of him. he died beofre i was born so it really means a lot to me. His name was Alf Hunterman.
Hi all. Im researching some autographes that I have aquired & one selection of signed pages is Sid seymour and his Mad Hatters. I have 3x sid seymour signatures and another page signed by his band the mad hatters ( 10 in all) Anyone know any information on his band members?. Cheers
Sid Seymour is indeed the band featured in this short. He started out with a stall on Blackpool's 'Golden Mile', twirling his bowler (derby) hat to attract passers by. Someoune suggested he should go 'on the stage' with this talent, which he did as 'front man' for a dance band.I recall seeing the act in variety shows in the 1950s. Alright but no way as good as Sid Millward!
@dgill1965 No. Sid Millward/Sid Seymour and Dr. Crock, were all different zany comedy bands.

No! Two entirely different bands. As was Dr.Crock and the Crackpots. My Auntie was the blonde stooge with Sid Millwards band in 1950.

Introduced on the film as Sid Seymour and his Mad Hatters. Is this the same group as the Nitwits?
