People thinks about old machines, as "dated" instruments. Nothing far beyond the truth. Don't get fooled for a synth with floopy. That just the storage option, and you won't use it too much.
The RM1x belongs to 1998, date of release of the EX5. I have both.
Some of the bestt synths, comes from late nineties, and they are pretty cheap today!!!!!
Is so nice to hear somebody playing in this way with only one synth, that's when the talent shows at its best.
Other great synth? Yama AN1x

The RM1x is one of the best grooveboxes under the $300. It's far beyond than the MC series from roland, and electribes can barely touch it. Patterns can be stored in many variations, it has a HUGE display for such a small machine, very intuitive, not the best sounds, but very user friendly unlike other yamaha products. I have 15 machines, and the RM1x is one of my favorites when talking about live acts.
And your music is beatiful. Please use stereo next time

Yeah I have been telling this man for a long time. He is probably one of the best undiscovered composers here on youtube. Using primarily and exclusively Rm1x to make such a track. I have an Rm1x and have done wonders with it but not on the level of this production. Cheers.

Amazing what you did with just the RM1x! I'm constantly amazed by grooveboxes in good hands. thanks for posting
You only used the Yamaha RM1x to make this track?

Hi, I think one of the synth sounds (sort of pan-pipe sound!) came off an old Yamaha CS2X synth which I recorded over the RM1X track. Think the RM1X ran out of notes to play it all at once! Thank you for listening

Nice man. Great work! I just ordered a RM1X today. Hope it's still a good machine for these days. Do you still use it?

yeh for sure! I drifted away from it a year or 2 ago and it sat around collecting dust... and when i went back to it, remembered how much of a laugh it was to use! Some of the default sounds are sounding a bit tierd, but put some onboard effects on them, (or perhaps invest in an up-to-date external effects unit!) and I reckon they phatten up nicely! All the best with it...

Hi, hope you enjoy your RM1X, gratefully appreciate your comments, but sadly its not a real sax, think it was the 'jazz' voice off the RM1X. Would be great to be able to play a real one though! Cheers.
