@hillbillyboy77 Very true music is music, black or white it really doesn't matter. We should all be greatful for both I guess. Both shared a passion for music an shared it with the world, that's all that matters. I overreacted to that persons comment.
@CookieMoster32 There's no problem, you may like Richard, you may like Elvis. I just object to somebody's saying that some musician stole something from the black authors, another one - from the white. There's no black nor white music. The musical culture was common. It's American music, the great melting pot of the cultures of the whole world.
@hillbillyboy77 Look I like Elvis but he didn't write his own music well of what I know he didn't. I just think he was way overrated, his looks out weighed his talent by a land slide. Little Richard was a true musician and songwriter. I was obviously wrong about him stealing black artist music, he was heavily influenced by black music though which is perfectly fine. Anyway who cares there both way better then anything around today..uh. I just think Little Richards better!
@CookieMoster32 oh hold it hold it! What "black music"? You mean Bill Monroe ("Blue Moon Of Kentucky"), Addy Arnold ("Milkcow Blues Boogie"), Mack David ("I Don't Care If The Sun Don't Shine"), Charlie Feathers ("I Forgot To Remember To Forget"), Leiber and Stoller ("Hound Dog"), Carl Perkins ("Blue Suede Shoes"), Jimmy Wakely ("I'll Never Let You Go") , Leon Payne ("I Love You Because"), Mae Boren Axton ("Heartbreak Hotel"), Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart ("Blue Moon") were "black"?!?!
Little Richard AND Elvis Presley were 2 of the most influential artists. But both of them in totally different ways. If only they both were still alive today...just imagine..I bet someone would have gotten all the 1950's early rock and roll guys all together to do an old-time jam session...at the Grammy's for sure that would have happened by now. Every single one of those guys would have done it too because they all influenced each other and clearly enjoyed each others music
And if left was not around right wouldnt be there either. Ive never heard such ignorance. When Elvis cut Thats All Right Mama. Do you think he had even heard of Chuck Berry or Little Richard? Wake up learn some music history especially TIME LINES because the stuff I read on these pages by ignorant smallminded fools. Makes you look even more stupid than you already are. These guys had a mutual repect for eachother. You need to find some as observers or fans.
Elvis is the King of Rock and Roll, and Little Richard is the Queen of rock and roll. Richard had a great voice but he was a one trick Pony. Berry too. The reason Elvis gets the vote is plain and simple. Not only did he make the biggest impact on the world. He was diverse vocally. He could do it all. The others were tied to the same trademark sound. Think this over. But Elvis singing Jailhouse Rock or Houndog is as good as anyone in the genre.
