@snotrag1974 That is good news-they are unique in thier own way (if you know what I mean). I am pleased that the bells are in safe hands-well done to you (and your friend).

@fartwell2000 Yes - I bought them. I did a small amount of "corrective" tuning on them and intended to hang them at work but never got around to it. Last year a friend of mine expressed interest in them so I passed them on again. They should be ready soon from what I have been told (somewhere in Somerset). Watch this space.

@moleysoton Wonder why I thought USA? Do you know what has happened to the "workshop" six that Arthur Jopp cast? Be a shame if they were lost for ringing purposes.

@fartwell2000 They were the Sydney University Carillon bells. Replaced in the 1970's and again, quite recently I am told. Matthew

@anonmonen The back ten were originally part of a carillon in the USA, or were destined to be part of a carillon in the USA. Part of the carillon ended up at Kinoulton, Notts-but twelve bells and only six hung. Last time I asked anyone about Kinoulton, it was suggested they were thinking about rehanging the back six and possibly hanging the six Trebles, as a twelve. The back six at Kinoulton were hung by Eayre and Smith I understand.

Interesting!! THe back 6 & 8 sound nice, but they and the treble over power the middle bells.
I was wondering where they are, as they seem to have vanished from Doves; thanks for the info.
I like these. One day I will have a miniring of my very own! Where are these now?
