Brazilian Relatives Fight for Custody of U.S. Boy

The Brazilian family of a 9-year-old boy returned by court order to his U.S. father say they will fight to regain custody. Lawyers for his Brazilian grandmother are requesting that the boy be allowed to make his own wishes known in court. (Dec. 29)

I would say the any Supreme Court in the world would make the final decison:

Child belongs primarily to parent in case one dies and not grand parents, unless proven that the kid is being mistreated, abused, etc. I don't understand how the family is not thinking about the father's right to be with his kid. They should appeal to be able to visit him is Disney instead.

Why the fuck would they still fight for his custody don't the grandparents already have another child to take care of?

I agree this child can make some decisions on his own meaning that hes 9 years old but the decisions he might make to return back to brazil should be kept on the loop by his father.

Let his father decide if he should return.

I feel bad for the family, but that law says that the bio parent has parental rights. I hope that the bio father will allow the other family to visit, but I am not there so who I am i to know......
