I went and visited Shea on valentines day and took a few pictures. It was really amazing how little of it was left. I also went over and visited Citi Field and saw the new home run apple about to be installed. There were also new advertisements put up.

Songs used:
Give My Last Breath-Trae
Crackhouse-Fat Joe feat. Lil Wayne

  • Shea is very missed by the most real New Yorkers & Brooklynites (ME! And former Royal & Orange supporter from the 80's), but it was not historic by any means. There was once a GIANT-ass horseshoe Uptown called the Polo Grounds (where the Royal & Orange obviously played during their first couple of misery-filled seasons in '62 & '63) that had even more history than Shea. Shea was for the people, but the Polo Grounds was for NYC. No question.

What that construction crew should have done was...

  • ...demolished some of those whiny-ass Metropolitan "fans" back in the early-Winter of '09. ALWAYS bitchin' about some shit!!! At least Metropolitan "fans" of today do. And surprisingly, the "male" Metropolitan "fans" seem to bitch more than their bitches. :D Any ballpark with a corporate name usually sounds corny, but I like calling it "The Citi." Common saying ("we're going into 'the city' (Manhattan) later") in our city's history. And I really dig how they honor Jack Robinson! That's great.

  • I really hate how that city doesn't preserve pieces of history.. That was built for the World's Fair.. They've done nothing to restore or protect the structures that are left & now they choose to tear Shea down..

That mayor should be ashamed of himself..

  • Yeah, Citi Field is built just like every other stadium with the seats and stuff... Shea was so unique, one of a kind..

  • Thats right now we have a stadium "just" like everyone else, so what... RIP Shea

  • will miss shea :(

  • Nice video, but you could of done without the rap music.

  • Citi Field looks nice but its not going to be Shea, I loved the atmosphere of Shea Stadium wish they couldve keep the neon ballplayers and I did like the blue painted exterior

  • i was there yesterday and a worker said that they are going to do a whole production for the media on tuesday. PS. thats the day it should all come down.

  • what a shame. gonna miss that place.. citi field is a nice stadium. nothin' could ever replace shea though.
