  • what a nice reply...and correct too...if the average Joe would stop thinking Picasso and look around for local talent, they could have a Poor Getty's Museum in their pad as well....plus art does get old and changing to new art always keeps the senses sharp...and if you're smart you'll give away or sell your old art to recycle it...no need to buy $90 prints at Macy's...good quality art is not only pleasing but a pretty good investment too....

    Very good advice.

    I always say to people, "Why do want to put posters on your wall? If you want to decorate with objects, find local artists and put original work in your home." My walls are filled with many original paintings from Bay Area artists. And I have pottery and glass. The Silicon Valley Open Studios is a great example, and you can browse through hundreds of different artists to find something that appeals to your taste.
