The Westchester Airport in New York had a week when there was the Collings Group who brought up their B-17 Flying Fortress, B-24 Liberator, and the P-51 Mustang.
The P-51 is argued by some to be the best fighter in Europe, Rivaling others such as the Focke Wulf FW-190. Some will go as far to say that it was the best fighter of the War. The P-51 was made to escort the Allied bombers into Germany and defend them from attacking Messerschmitt and Focke Wulf fighters.

This particular P-51 was a two seat variant of one of the Earlier Models (Can tell by the Non-bubble Canopy). For some reason my camera did not record the Propeller at full speed, rather it only got a slow revolution of it.

  • is this a p51a model?

  • @helpmedr I'm not very sure, I know it's one of the earlier models because of the on-Bubble Canopy

  • @neverboardproduction I'm not entirely sure. I think the B models still had the Allison engines and less armament.

  • @helpmedr

Yes, a restored Mustang P-51B ("B" is the model that don't have bubble canopy, the "D" one have)

  • thank you.

  • @helpmedr p51-B

  • The non accurate representation of the prop blades has to do with the Frames Per Second (fps) that your camera is recording at.
