I have taken like 15 CLEPs, as well as a bunch of DSST tests. Between the two, I have gotten 90 credits. I use a coaching service called CollegePlus!, which has done a great job helping me get so many credits, which will all count towards my degree.

I have passed 7 of these tests for 27 credits, and am taking one next week. Nothing like beating the college scam.

BTW i wouldn't buy petersons on all of the tests, just the ones you aren't comfortable with or have failed before. There's a 6 month waiting period between tests.

There is something called Peterson's CLEP practice tests - I highly recommend them as practice tests for the CLEP. It is online and not cheap but it does exactly what you pay it to do - tell you whether you are ready or not.
