AC looks like it was modified to fit somthing and it did not fit, was never plumbed in, but mounting tabs were cut off :(

Metal tool box had Sidchrome Impact Sockets in it too :D about $150 worth new.

Re-Inspected both tires and allocated one for spare (without the scratches on the inside) and the scratched one for messing around on private property (dirt circle work :D ) really need a 3rd one to use as a dedicated spare and just use the Toyos for non-road use.

  • I'm just curious, but is it possible to use the air conditioner in a car as a heat pump? My mum's turbo diesel seems to take an age for the engine to warm up after it has been sitting out in the cold, and it would be awesome to know if it was possible to use the a/c that way. If it turns out it's possible it could then have the a/c modified next time it needs repairing.

  • @tlaroche38 R134a dosn't produce enough head pressure to be a effective heater, plus if the outside coil freezes (which it will if yoiu drive in rain or humidity) it will block airflow to the radiator, overheating the engine

diesel's taking a while to warm up is a bit frustrating, but its just the nature of the beast

  • Tribalmasters. You can do what Ed does. Just get out there and start.Get a hammer and a cold chisel. Its all waiting for you. Damn Kennet for closing the tech schools. People have no way of knowing about how much fun there is to be had with mechanical stuff. Geta good quality nut and bolt, study it and marvel at the technology that brought it to you.Go for it.

  • @romandybala yeh it sucks that Kennet shut down our tech schools :(. I have ot pay for a TAFE course if I want any kind of technical training with paperwork to boot.

But yeh, the machinery used to make nuts and bolts is fascinating to see in operation, and incredibly fast!
