TRIGO SARUY (Trilla de trigo)

The Andean dances are a very important part of the ceremonies in which earth venerates to the mother. In the Andean communities the celebrations have conserved their ritual meaning. Music and dances not only represent the solidarity of the town with its earth, but it also express the union of the Andean communities. May June is the atmosphere of the natural landscape for the accomplishment of the Saruy (it beats). Full Moon, open sky and etrellado, golden wheat fields, maqtas (young men) pasnas (young women) ready for the work of the barley or the wheat, the winds burst and the wheat fields are transformed into birds. This dance has its old origin in the celebration of the Aymuray Keel (celebration of the harvest) before the arrival of the Spaniards and until now it is come to separate masorca of chala; when settling down itself the Spaniards introduced the wheat and the barley Andean towns incorporated them like part of the celebration of aymuray. It beats it is an agricultural activity that locks up the incaica inheritance of the collective work where they occur the separation of the grain of the straw.
