Peter Blake Drag Racing (Snap On Nitro Champs)

Snap On Nitro Champs 4th and 5th May 2007
This is the Top Doorslammer drag car driven by Peter Blake and owned by his father Robert Broadbent. It is a Holden Stateman and the car is sponsored by Aussie Bananas, Turn 4 and RMW Publishing. It's a "Chicago Shootout" style round robin event at Western Sydney International Dragway. Only 10 Sydney cars were invited to the event. Friday saw 3 rounds of qualifying and Saturday was the top 8 get two runs, the first is for seeding and the second is for racing and the fastest two in the second round go to the final. This was a good opportunity for testing for all the teams, and to have a little fun at the same time. Peter has driven the car only a few times and still has a lot to learn, also we are still learning to tune the car. The car has a Sainty engine (Australian made - 518 cubic inch). There are 4 runs to see, the second run you will see is peter's personal best time 6.401seconds across the quarter mile. The last run is his personal best in terms of speed 224mph.
