the only diferent between the 'wehrmacht' and the alied was that the alied were fighting for the right thing and the germans for the wrong - the 'wehrmacht' just fought for there country while the SS just fought for one man: hitler (stupid motherfucker)

i like bob, but i find a lil bit ridiculous how they portrait the german army.....they kill and beat them very easily, and lets not forget that that very same army had europe at its hand for more than 5 years; furthermore, it took 3 amazing forces ( us, uk ,urss) to finally defeat them

@tavisho The German Army's state and quality at around D-Day (and afterward) wasn't as good as the one from the French campaign in 1940. Most of their highly trained units were on located on the Eastern front, also please consider how VAST Europe is. Germany had to occupy a large portion of Europe while at the same time fight a 2 front war. Another point, the 101st was trained as good as the Waffen SS, so they are both equivalent.

@timmy9g Not all German soldiers were Nazi's... That would be the same as saying im A democrat because im in the Army right now and the commander and chief is a democrat.

The "Heer" or regular Army was just that, the SS ran the deathcamps.

This speech ( it was actually spoken almost wordfor word like this in the book and maybe in the war) shows us that we ppl are all the same no matter our race political believes or alignments, when warcomes we all fight for the same reason,

I found this quite interesting as it humanizes the Nazi's. Anyone who says they are morally superior to anyone who supported the Third Reich should check out the experiment done by Psychologist Stanley Milgram.
