The quest for drinking water in Gaza - 22 Jun 08

During Israel's year-long blockade of Gaza, Palestinians have struggled to find tangible improvements in their lives.

A recent increase in the flow of goods into the territory following a "truce" between Israel and Hamas has softened the situation, but shelves in many local stores remain bare.

One necessity hard to come by is drinking water, which, as Al Jazeera's Sami Zeidan discovered, was more difficult to buy than some other rather odd products.

Yes I agree with you, Gaza needs a large enough desalination plant to satisfy the thirst of the Gaza residents. Not to forget the water rich West Bank whose water Israel is stealing for its own use in West Bank settlements and in Israel itself while it prevents the Palestinian residents of the West Bank from creating infrastructure to satisfy their own water needs.

Yet, who will prevent Israel from bombarding such desalination plants or hindering the function of such basic humanitarian projects?

Funny, last i checked only 16.8% of Palestinians were supporters of groups such as Hamas, in fact the only reason that Hamas was elected is because they were the only opposition force against Fatah, which if you do you're research you would know was extremely corrupt. after the brits conquered this place they didnt gave it to anyone

The ratio of Jews to Arabs was considerably out weighed. Besides the real fact that the land belonged to the Arabs before the Jewish immigrants settled in and took over.
