You should understand that cheap labor is not the only factor involved in being a dominant manufacturing base. Good infrastructure and favorable policies must also exist. I'm sure you are well aware of the poor state of India's infrastructure and the fact that labor in India is cheaper than China's should prove my above point.
Good jobs require good education. India's literacy rate is dismal. You may have a good job, but if we're talking poor lifestyles, I'd choose the poor Chinese lifestyle.

Being the world's factory has been responsible for China's rise in economic power today.
There is no good in India being a knowledge economy when it's economy lacks efficiency. It would also be foolish to believe China will never become more innovative. Last time I checked reports, China leads the world in green energy technology and agriculture technology. India is highly inefficient in these very important future industries. What China does not have, are cheap waged call centers.

The CCP is more concerned with those that oppose their rule. I don't think they "tell you when to have sex and how to lead a sexy life". When did I say HK was "real China"? It was British.
Clearly, the Indian government is treating Kashmir correctly. The current situation as I see it: Both governments have problems. The difference? CCP seem to do well in improving the economy (even though tough times ahead). India needs more leadership and a plan. 60% illiterate fark.

@jay34111 I know what the one child policy is about.Tomorrow, the government should tell you when to have sex and how to lead a sexy life and tell you to enter it into the system to improve the health index performance of a country.Your ideal comparison would have been, two communist countries with similar challenges, not a free country and an authoritarian regime which kills like in tianamen, therefore different challenges.Oh Hong Kong is not the real China, have u been into inner china?

You seem to have blurted out every problem that China seems to be currently facing. It seems you prefer India. I am very familiar with the problems both countries face. The one-child policy was an attempt to control extreme population growth. More people = less food. India should learn. Voting rights? India's elected government is clearly corruption free. I've been to both countries. The average person in China seems to be at least eating well and living under a roof.

@bloodhoundHermetic dude,u must be brainwashed by ur media and ur govt, chinese people could abuse govt on street or internet now, even in singapore ,u could abuse govt on street or internet, all u claim is ur dirty propaganda, chinese choice to one child policy coz we dont want become ur poor india, we dont need right to shit or piss on street or ride on top of bus or trian, we dont need ur poverty and slums, china govt made china became superpower and modern, industry and rich, we love our govt
@jay34111 I agree, India should not consider China as a competitor. It has always been India which has influenced China, be it Buddhism or cultural influence in Asia. China is just a sweat shop to the West. India on the other hand is a knowledge economy. If the west stops buying, its paper tiger economy will crumple like a pack of cards. India needs to be proud of its heritage, culture and not compare with China. Quality is more important that quantity.

@jay34111 Thanks for acknowledging that China's rise is based on cheap labor. People who started Indian all centers 10 yrs ago have moved on to become CEOs of billion dollar companies while the Chinese migrant is still making 17cents/hour in 2011 working for Foxcon. All leading indicators e.g. demographics, democratic, financial, judicial, social institutions favor India in the long term. I will rather be a software engineer rather than a shop floor worker any day.
