I didn't know that Tammy was a TV series too...I've seen all the movies and would love to be able to watch all the episodes of this series sometime.

Along with Ms.Watson,,who played"Tammy"..I also enjoyed Mr.McGrath..who played her "Uncle" and Mr.Pyle..God Bless His Soul..who played her grandpa.

@jsrosa1282 No doubt. And not long afterward, Batman also ran its course. There is some poetic justice in the fact that The Modern Stone Age Family and The Creepy, Kooky Addamses are better remembered than The Green Hornet. And thank goodness a lot of fans still recall Tammy.

@RoyFive I remember The Green Hornet - I used to watch it in syndication when I was little...Kato rocked! Too bad ABC had to bow down to Dozier's demands! I'm sure Hanna-Barbera and the companies that produced Tammy and The Addams Family were not too happy about that.

@jsrosa1282 Brother. I'm sure they could have made room for both. Green Hornet also bit the dust after a single season. Very few people remember it, and I suspect some Bruce Lee fans don't know he was Kato.

@RoyFive I recall reading somewhere that ABC network politics was responsible for the cancellation of Tammy, as well as its Friday night stablemates The Flintstones and The Addams Family. William Dozier, the executive producer of the very popular (at the time) Batman, needed a time slot for The Green Hornet, which ABC had committed to for 1966-67. So out went Tammy and the other sitcoms.

I also was terribly bummed when the show was not renewed. I managed to locate the show here this week, and admit I am not at all disappointed. No wonder why I loved the show as a kid! This show sure brings back cool memories from a very cool time in my life, when ABC had a slew of memorable shows.
Was the series coloured afterwards? In Germany they used to broadcast black and white episodes!

All 26 TAMMY episodes were produced in Technicolor. Many countries were still broadcasting in B/W back in 1967.

I didn't like the show as much when Frank McGrath was absent. I found out later that he had to miss a lot of the series because of surgery.

After the Tammy TV series finished in 1966, Frank eventually died of a heart attack in 1967.

I liked Debbie Watson as Karen more than as Tammy. But Tammy was an enjoyable sitcom for the time!
