  • This piece really showcases her super gel Gesu.....it roars in the lower registers and sings like James Gallway playing the flute in the upper registers. Perfect violin for the perfect violinist.

  • @jhglobal1 Agreed...she picked it out with Isaac Stern in her teens and has been using it ever since!

  • Why the censorship? I didn't say anything negative about the performance. I merely expressed disappointment that we could not hear her play the entire first movement without unbrokenly!

  • @aristotle358 Not censorship, but moderation. I post the ones that have no profanity, etc. but it takes me a while because I get so many comments! :)

  • @SsteinwayS And it forces me to read and respond to each one individually :) You meet so many interesting people on YouTube :)

  • What a pisser that it is broken up into three snippets rather than being able to listen to it in one go!

  • @aristotle358 Well, the time limit was 10 minutes for videos at the time when I posted it, and the first movement is 22 minutes long! No need to get so mad at me :(

  • What a pity we couldn't hear the entire first movement unbroken. Very nice cadenza.

  • @coastaluva2 WOW! Majorly jealous!! Did you participate in her Twitter LA photo contest?? ;)

  • ...I saw this live with Kurt Masur conducting the LA Philharmonic last Thursday. :)
