Hi, You can travel much faster, more comfortable and more miles per litre, with any other Car. But this is the only Vehicle, which gives you that special feeling, right? I wouldn't swap it for any other Car!

@theswatter we were cruising across FL in the dead of summer, and that was the way we did, about every 45 min to an hour, pull over, have a drink and chill out. Part of he fun and the adventure. Always meeting great ppl, hearing new stories and seeing new areas!

Thats what life is about, awesome.
Leaving Milwaukee next week in Sunny our 72 VW Westy-headed for Burning Man-in the Nevada desert about 3 hours north of Reno. Plan on taking I80 going there. Coming back- heading south at Salt Lake City thru Utah and eventually hooking up with I70 Any Must See's near our route?

@lisadaveg I should be hitting the road in about a week as well if the bus is out of the shop by then. Are you at VW Bus Camp? If so we'll see you there. :) Zion Park is nice as are all the parks. I really liked Death Valley but this time of the year in an air cooled might be tough. I also liked Valley of Fire. Great place to camp overnight. Very good facilities.

how did you keep your bus from overheating in the heat? aftermarket oilcooler?

@b3astieboi2 Depending on where I was but if it was in a hot area then I just rolled along slowly and stopped every hour or so and let the bus cool down a bit.

@ValisFan4 If the body is solid then yes. Engines aren't that hard to come by but a solid body is important. I'm just dropping 4K on rebuilding old Dante here but he's worth every cent. It's a great ride and an even better community of people.
