Zenyatta's streak is safe.
As the 4-to-1 second choice in the Grade I $250,000 Las Virgenes Stakes at Santa Anita, Zazu was able to defeat odds-on favorite Turbulent Descent by over a length, snapping her undefeated streak at three, just 16 shy of Zenyatta.
The three-year-old gray daughter of Tapit trained by John Sadler and ridden by Joel Rosario won for just the second time in her career for Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Moss, who also own the retired champion Zenyatta.

Zazu is certainly a very promising looking filly. But in reality, the Moss's will likely never own another horse that will accomplish anything close to what Zenyatta accomplished for them. And I'd say truth be told, they'd be the first people to admit that. But Zazu did defeat one of the best fillies in the game right now in Turbulent Decent in the Las Virgenes Stakes at Santa Anita. They've beaten each other one time each now. The rubber match is coming in the SA Oaks. Should be a great race!!
