  • Hey Scotty,

When I go to start my car, it makes a noise if i was trying to start my car while its already started. It makes that noise for a second and then it starts up fine. Is that indication of a bad starter?

  • @TheIronAmuro yes, pray it's just that and not worn teeth on the flywheel.

  • @j12torts hey, just run a wire from the battery to the the dash, where you can put on a remote starter switch. Then run the other end back to the starter directly, simplifies things.

  • @scottykilmer yeh i checked the fuses thyre all good, relay (i dnt really know how to check those so i didnt bother lol) BUT when i checked the starter motor (by hooking up 12v battery on it) it kicked and it worked.

how do u explain tht one? im starting to suspect its the wiring....please i hope its not...its gna be a pain to rewire.

  • @j12torts relays rarely go bad, pray it's just the starter and not wiring.

  • @scottykilmer i sure hope so scotty, new part arrives on tuesday so let's see. I'll let u know how it goes.

could it also be a starter relay?

what other possible problems could it be. But an engine not cranking sure is a starter right?

  • @j12torts sure sounds like a bad starter.

  • Can't be the distributor right or the ignition coil right? my car was cranking slowly (almost grinding/ struggling noise) and it started (even got home lol thank god) then i turned the engine off, tried to start it again and wouldnt crank anymore as in nothing happens. I turned the headlights on and it was a bright as the morning sun ( so im sure its not battery) It's gotta be the starter right?? (fingers crossed).

before this happened the car would normally hav to crank twice before startin

  • @LilLik800 just follow the big positive cable from the battery, one end of it ends up bolted on the starter itself.

  • think it will be as easy as it looks in the video for a 2000 dodge neon? Dont know where the starter is located
