Bach: Art of Fugue, fugues 1, 4, 2

Recorded in 1957, May 12, at the Small Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, during a lecture-concert Gould gave before an audience of soviet students.

  • I heard GG play this at a concert in the EASTMAN Theater when I was a student there...I also met him..after sneaking into the theater to listen to him practice, which was a mesmoizing experience for me. (He also played the Eminor Partita)
