http://www.thelightandenergychannel.tv If you feel run down, tired, feel you "have a cold coming on", or are prone to infections, allergies and digestive complaints then maybe your immune system could do with a boost. As a nutritionist, we always look to the health of the digestive system in order to promote good health and healthy gut bacteria is of optimum importance in boosting the immune system. I recommend Vega ProVen Adult and ProVen Child. 1 or 2 a day taken depending on individual needs.

I am very fussy about the supplements I recommend as there is a lot of confusion for the consumer with the massive range of products on offer, with Proven it really does get my seal of approval. We can also boost the immune system using Vitamin C, Zinc, Garlic and Echinacea.

Vitamin C is excellent for helping the body fight both bacterial and viral infections. I would recommend a high strength 100omg Vitamin C that has added bioflavanoids such as Vega Vitamin C 1000mg High strength or Biocare Vitamin C 1000mg. Vitamin C is water soluble, and cannot be made by the body so it is essential to include foods high in this nutrient in the diet.
Blackcurrants, potatoes, berries, citrus fruit, cauliflower, tomatoes, green leafy veg are all good sources.

Zinc plays a key role in the bodies immune, nervous and reproductive system so is another essential nutrient for helping us feel above par.
Foods high in Zinc include wheatgerm, yeast, pumpkin seeds, lentils, corn, eggs, dry milk, nuts, oysters, steak.

Garlic antiviral, anti bacterial and excellent for immunity and cardiovascular health, no immune boosting regime would be complete without the suggestion of garlic. Remember though its qualities are destroyed when heated so raw is best or take a supplement such as Vega Garlic Extract High Strength which is deodorised to reduce the strong odour.

Echinacea has a long and intriguing history of use and is one of the most extensively researched herbs. It is popularly believed to stimulate the bodies own immune system and ward off infections. Many people use Echinacea throughout the winter month to help protect their body from colds and flu. Vega Echinacea complex is an excellent choice taken one or two a day. So for a healthy, happy winter look after your immune system!
