Check out this experiment and many others at http://www.incrediblescience.com Demonstrate the law of conservation of energy and momentum! This large Newton's Cradle is one of the most incredible physics toys ever made. Named after Sir Isaac Newton and his Third Law of Motion. This high quality version is over 7 1/4" tall and its polished metal and wooden base provides a great base for the balls to swing back and forth on.

  • @gene8lios0 it does not stop but there are some forces which makes it stop.

  • To make this you need:

Equal parts conservation of momentum and conservation of energy.

    One part friction.

    And a dash of gravity.

  • @iownudie108

yeah, They work for ages in a vacuum, We got bored one day at the lab and put one in our vacuum chamber. Lasted for at least 10 mins xD

  • @XXSongohan air friction is negligible comparing to the amount of energy that is converted into sound

  • @shumazo Its stops because of air friction.

  • how much do they cost

  • @shumazo the reason it stops is because of inertia and friction, which are similar. but it will tick for a long time because only little bits of inertia and friction are being acted upon the newtons cradle at a time

  • why does it stop ?? whats the physics behind that ? , is the force bieng used up every time it passes from ball to ball or it stops becoz of gravity ? or does it stop because of its inertia !

i think it must be all three of above !! please tel ???

  • nice background music

  • Put your finger between one XD
