Ann Coulter's new book, If Democrats Had Any Brains They'd Be Republicans, hits bookshelves today, and as is his wont, George Gurley sat down with the self-proclaimed right-wing polemicist for a long chat appearing in tomorrow's editions of The Observer.

George gave us a few bits of wit and wisdom from his interview to feed you today, while the television is going wild about the beminiskirted babe.

On how much blame Bill Clinton deserves for the terrorist attacks of 9/11:

A lot. Jimmy Carter got the whole thing started, Bill Clinton let it build, build, build, build, build. He wouldn't deal with it, because he had no credibility on deploying the military. He was a pot smoking draft dodger, and so when he was presented with credible evidence that this or that country was behind a terrorist attack, he'd just have to look the other way: "No, don't let me hear that. Call in Monica!"

On women:

If we took away women's right to vote, we'd never have to worry about another Democrat president. It's kind of a pipe dream, it's a personal fantasy of mine, but I don't think it's going to happen. And it is a good way of making the point that women are voting so stupidly, at least single women.

It also makes the point, it is kind of embarrassing, the Democratic Party ought to be hanging its head in shame, that it has so much difficulty getting men to vote for it. I mean, you do see it's the party of women and 'We'll pay for health care and tuition and day care -- and here, what else can we give you, soccer moms?'

I cannot believe what I have just watched! I have never seen such bold-faced hatred & non empathetic slur in most my life!

Scary thing is Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter claim to be Christians! When all they do is look down upon and condescend certain people!

Christianity is supposed to represent everything but hate. If this type of hate is what their "type" of Christianity represents then I want no part of it! Its people like Ann and Sean that make me feel utterly ashamed to be a conservative!

Some people call me a "bleeding heart liberal," but I'm also a "bleeding heart conservative."

Let's be practical. Where'd we be without bees! Very hungry, without those little guys to pollinate our plants. And without ladybugs, we'd have to resort to dangerous pesticides that hike up our healthcare costs and make us all feel bad.
