@Proaconstructor I must tel you Al that English is my third languish that i have learned from TV and Films ( i had other things to do than being in school;-) so sometimes i don`t really understand every thing! so sorry if i am being slow sometimes:-)
-
@Proaconstructor a`Modern Longbow is as or even easier to shoot whit then a`Recurve if one shoots without sights!so i don`t really understand that, are they referring to the Olympic recurve VS the Classic Longbow ?
-
@Proaconstructor You Se here in Sweden we who'd have one participant,if any Club who'd have a`Longbow class,Al the others shoot Hybrids!
So a`Classic Longbow and one Modern Longbow who`d be OK! and easiest to understand, and i mean in Sweden;-)
-
@Greyarcher1 Well! i am Guessing they are no Trad shooter them Self;-).... i mean the competition Rule Makers!!!
-
@Proaconstructor Sorry you lost me there! i don`t know what we are talking about any more?
Anyway! the Problem lays in the definition of the Long Bow,the only Real Long bow is by many Rule makers of Competitions the English type! easiest thing who`d be to call these modern "Long Bows for some thing ells like Bush Bows or Hybrids, anything rather than Long Bows, and i am talking about Sweden in the Film i don`t know anything about other Countries

@MrJERICHOJIM 20 yards is reasonable. Ethically, most hunters won't die or suffer financially, if they pass on thegame meat. So putting the animal first is the responsible thing. A lot more than shooting accuracy is involved in shooting wild game. So archers have gotten shorter range, rather than longer, over the years. But skill and gear is better. Both longbows and compounds have advantages over each other. Alter tactics to deal with some of the limitations or your choice.

@Greyarcher1 Why would you say that? Guys who shoot the Longbows of all times until 10-15 years ago, in NFAA, or FITA comp, and shoot wooden arrows, etc... Aren't traditional? I have nothing against other methods, I don't get that though. So traditional archery is only archery developed in the last 15 years? :)

@MrJERICHOJIM My Bows are around 50lbs, no i don`t hunt, the Max Yards depends on the Archer, and Plastic Fletching is for elevated rests NOT for Trad Bows.
To Hunt whit a`Compound is 10 times more difficult than whit a´Rifle! and whit Trad Bows it`s even Harder,so 1-2 Years of regular shooting every week is what you must do before you are ready for Hunting, and within 7 Inch is where you must hit 4 out of 5 Arrows At least! So Be Dedicated;-) -G
Dont know if its because they just cant stand the fact, that traditional archers would be so much better than compound archers. You know...that the simplicity would win over "high tech" bows (dont know if I can call compound a bow). I dont give a ***k about competitions. I shoot a bow, because I like it and I have a feeling, that shooting a bow, is written in every mans DNA for ages. Competitions should be won by skills, not by the gear. So I agree its unfair.
