Actually, it really seems more like christianity saved the roman empire, more than anything.

I can't speak to their knowledge of medicine, it's not like the romans were especially advanced themselves. Biggest bunch of barbarians in history.

@jvierinen Christianity killed the Roman empire. The ancient Rome was 1000 years ahead of christian knowledge of medicin. Go to the nearest university and ask about it.
