So olivia's play style relies on combos and that throw move. I might get this game, I have BB and guilty gear AC (wii version). Want to play through BB first though.

Apparently, Lieselotte just stares into the opponent's eyes (signified by those red waves), which screws up their directions.

I think Shiki does the same in Samurai Showdown/SNK vs. Capcom/Neogeo Battle Coliseum. At least, I think it's a kiss attack.

Rogue's was also a command grab but it was also a finisher for some of her super moves. It allowed Rogue to steal special moves from other characters early on, but they changed it to life recovery and attack power boosting afterwards.

Yep, reverses directions. It's a command grab, not just a normal grab (I don't know how rogue's worked, didn't play marvel).
