The 5 year warranty on my SNH-031 Invacom LNB is just about up. The LNB has stood up to 4 Minnesota winters splendidly, what a stoating LNBF it is!
I was checking it out today and noticed the LNB cover was faded and kind of rough looking, time for a new cover to get the FULL signal quality out of all satellites!
I cracked open the LNB casing, most LNB's are water tight without the casing anyway and the Invacom LNB's let any water drip right out the bottom.
I removed the faded yellow LNB cover and cut out a clear plastic replacement from a Toy box. I used silicon to fit it back on the LNB and make it water tight. The full project took around 10 minutes TOTAL!
Result was an increase of 2-3 signal quality points! With a regular LNB you can expect even more of a gain!
There are many more projects on the www.VisionPlus.US Satellite forum!

Yes clear plastic, I got the idea from a circular LNB so yes it would also work for DBS LNB, in fact any Ku Band LNB.
All the Best!
