It's important to take note of Smith's talk, since it's typical of extreme conservatives to misrepresent those who have liberal, secular value systems. Not only do these conservatives often quote-mine, taking conclusions away from their other supporting premises, but they, then, all of a sudden, link the misrepresented viewpoint back to Hitler and Nazi Germany. This routine is all-too-common, shameful, and boring (cf. Ray Comfort, Kirk Cameron, William Lane Craig, Dinesh D'souza).

I was going to say that his little tantrum at the end was unbefitting of any thinking person. I then discovered that this Wesley Smith is involved in the Discovery Institute, and therefore is not a thinking person. The big difference between the Nazis and Peter Singer is that the Nazis killed disabled adults without regard for their suffering, while Singer advocates infanticide precisely because it would reduce future suffering.

Perrine how do you feel about being married to your animal of choice? Singer thainks that's fine. Wesley's too polite to mention that.
-
cokemagistrate, You should be offended by Singer; he's a neo-Nazi. I certainly am, he wants to kill my precious daughter Christina, who has an extra chromosome.

Give me Zyklon B over terminal sedation any day.

Wesley Smith is a compassionless pro-lifer.

Shan't do
By the way, someone mentioned the Sudan. Wesley has written about such issues, including slavery and human trafficking in that and other countries.

he didn't take it out of context. Just because Singer notes that some disabled people enjoy life, thus their disabilities do not make their lives not worth living, he nonethless takes the position that Wesley articulates. You are actually taking Wesley's comments out of context when you slam this "by the way" comment of Singer's against his words as a trump card. All anyone has to do is read Singer's work (as I have), and have training in the area of disability advocacy to know this.
