Karmann Ghia 59 coupe - KG lowlight - quick checkup

Here is my unrestored lowlight ghia from 1959.
While changing the rear left turn signal I took 10 minutes to quickly inspect the vehicle with my camera a share how that vehicle is surprisingly well preserved.
There is no rust at all on that vehicle, and all of the original pieces on the vehicle are still there and operational.

Very cool. I've got this car's twin sister. Mine is identical and also is unrestored. The only thing with mine is that the previous owner swapped out the larger air intake and replaced them with the late model type. Also my dash is red. These were all made in Germany at the time. In fact, there was such a waiting list that the previous owner of mine bought theirs in Germany and had it shipped over. Thanks for posting this. Maybe this summer I'll post one of mine.

By the way, "ottoagain", since it's a '59 Karmann Ghia, it can only be German, because production of the Karmann in Brasil started in 1962.

This looks very much like a '59 KG that my grandfather had when I was a very small child (though his roof was white - could have be changed to black I suppose). Any idea where this car came from?

A beautiful example of a rare unrestored and unmolested Karmann Ghia. Take many photos for us to have factory preservation. You were fortunate. A friend of mine (I thought) didn't even give me a heads up to see it when it came here through Houston. If so, it would have remained in Texas. Thank you for sharing.
