Oh man, this stage is so hard as Mini Mario...that's because for the most part, enemies are falling from the sky and it's hard to figure out their trajectories. At first, it isn't so bad because you can see where they are before they drop down. Then, the Piranha Plants and Bob-ombs come tumbling down from out of nowhere and the game's like, "SURPRISE!" as Mario falls to his death.
Much of the stage is a jungle cruise, across a special raft. If you're not familiar with the raft, it'll probably confuse you as to the numbers marked on it and why it stops sometimes. Well, the easiest thing to notice is that the raft stops when the number reaches 5. The number markers change from blue to red and you get a different sound effect. Less obvious is why these numbers go up and down. The numbers indicate the quantity of enemies on the raft. It doesn't matter if they're big or small; each separate enemy adds 1 to the total. That means the raft stops when you have 5 or more enemies on board; Mario needs to dispose of them to get the raft moving again. This makes life difficult for Mini Mario, as he needs a while to gain enough power to defeat most of the enemies seen here; it's all too easy for an enemy to fall onto Mario as he's trying to get rid of something.
This video also introduces the next enemy type of the day: the Micro-Goombas. (Micro-Goombas were previously seen in 2-2, I believe, but I skipped that section.) Micro-Goombas are tiny tiny Goombas who are smarter than normal-size Goombas in that they actually follow Mario left and right. They can't harm Mario directly, but rather, latch onto him to decrease his jumping ability. They're also so weak, they're the only enemies in this game defeatable by jumping on them as Mini Mario. The Micro-Goombas are a big detriment to Mario in this stage because each Micro-Goomba counts as 1 on the raft, they travel in swarms, their jumping makes them not as vulnerable to POW Blocks as other enemies here, and because they inhibit Mario's jumps, he becomes REALLY vulnerable to enemies coming Mario's way.

Micro goombas didn't show up in 2-2, this is the first time they show up

Thanks for the typo. Also, they did show up. They're in a secret area containing a Star Coin. Only Mini Mario can access this room.

In what level? I don't remember that, and I got 100% on this game, just like you.

It's the one with the Spikes. If I remember correctly, there was a secret passage accessible only as Mini Mario that contained a maze and a few scattered Micro-Goombas.
