  • Moreover, part of the reason the USA's economy improved so rapidly with WW2 is because all of the USA's competitors got wiped out by the war -- the factories in Europe, the USSR, and Japan were all bombed to smithereens.

  • Warmonger, I hope you're just joking. Franklin Roosevelt proved the validity of Keynesian economics, in the last few years before the USA entered World War 2. The economy improved each year that FDR used stimulus spending; it slid backward in the one year when he tried balancing the budget instead. War is an accelerated form of stimulus spending, but of a very destructive type.

  • Thanks, Park. Yes, I need a new microphone; and background music is an interesting idea. I've even thought of getting someone who has a better voice than mine. But I probably won't make another video for a while. It takes me a long time to develop an idea to where I want it. Go to my website (mentioned in the description below my video) -- you'll see that my short essay says "version 2.15," and my long essay says "version 5.65."

  • 1:29 - Unemployment fell dramatically throughout the WW2, reaching a low of 1.2% by 1944. The real gross national product rose by 37% from 1941 to 1944.

World War 2 reduced unemployment and raised GNP.

They are just printing more money and increasing inflation. What we really need is a WW3.

  • 1:08 - Instead of complaining us, why don't join the club? My stock options rose sharply of the Iraq War.

ps: I think America should attack Iran.

  • Good job, Eric. Nice, illustrative photos and insightfully written text. Youtube needs more videos like this one. 1 suggestion-- a better quality audio [mic? recorder?] might help the viewership and impact. & you might consider a low-volume music track behind the script. In short: great text and visuals, but improved audio "production values" could make it even more persuasive. Keep up the good work!

  • Thank you Eric!
